Alagasco has repaired the pipeline in the Killen area damaged Thursday by a third-party contractor, and has started the process of restoring service to the nearly 700 affected customers.
In order to restore service, mechanics must go door-to-door in the affected area and have access to all gas appliances in the residence or business.
Someone must be at the home or business so that the service mechanic can light pilots and perform a safety inspection.
Alagasco is calling affected customers to inform them when a service mechanic will be in their area today to restore service.
If no one is home, the service mechanic will leave a notice on the door with a contact number so that a mechanic can return to the customer’s home or business to re-establish service.
