OUTAGE ALERT: Hwy 43 & Hwy 64, Killen, AL area

Categories: Alagasco News

A natural gas pipeline near the intersection of Highway 43 and Highway 64 in the Killen area was damaged earlier today by a third-party contractor, causing a natural gas outage that could affect about 700 Alagasco customers

Alagasco crews are working to repair the damage and additional mechanics are en route to the area to assist with restoring service and turning on meters.

Alagasco service mechanics must go door-to-door to turn on gas. Someone must be at the home or business to give the service mechanic access to appliances to light the pilots and perform a safety inspection.

If no one is home the service mechanic will leave a notice on the door providing a number to call in order to get a mechanic back to your home or business to re-establish service.

We expect to have service restored to all affected customers by the end of the day Friday.
