Not everything has to be a new invention. All too often, we don’t share our ideas and stories and the wheel continuously gets reinvented. At Alagasco, we want to share the stories, the innovation and help create new ideas to help our customers.
We thought a project we worked on in Auburn is worth sharing. If it can help one other business, one other customer, it is worth it.
When The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center wanted to create an outdoor dining experience that could be used well into fall and early spring, they turned to Alagasco for help. Alagasco employees in the Auburn/Opelika area installed ten natural gas infrared heaters on the patio of the Ariccia Trattoria & Bar that is located at the hotel.
We asked Hans van der Reijden, managing director of The Hotel if he would share his story and his experience with Alagasco.
What made you decide to go with Natural Gas for your project? Our Ariccia Trattoria & Bar project was aimed at creating a patio environment which would stretch our season both in the fall as well as the spring, by adding gas heaters to warm the area. Natural gas was a “natural” fit! The heat it produces creates the environment in which our guests can stay out longer at night, later into the season, and it is paying off greatly for us.
How did your Alagasco Business Development Partner assist you during this process? This was a seamless process for us. Alagasco truly partnered with us on finding the best solution for this project. We are not engineers. We are in hospitality. We quickly found ourselves discussing valves, pipes, wall penetration, installation, etc. We could have never done this and done it right without Alagasco Business Development professionals walking us through this step-by-step.
What would you tell a peer about Alagasco? Alagasco is a great business partner for us. The service provided, and the genuine care shown for a project such as ours, certainly creates loyalty from us as your customer.
How has Natural Gas helped your business with this project? Our patio business has doubled, creating a new experience for our guests. It has significantly improved our bottom line.
